Bricktops Poster: Hobo Jazz

$10.00

My Bricktops! poster celebrating Hobo Jazz, who often performed as resident artists at the club. Size: 11″ x17″ with full-bleed border (as pictured in the image). The poster is printed on 100lb Gloss Book with Aqueous Coating (C2S) using a Heidelberg Offset press.

I mail my posters in a large flat envelope to keep everything crisp, pretty & flat. The shipping cost is a flat fee of $5. If your total order is more than $30, shipping is free. I usually ship orders out once a week, but if you need a print fast, email me and we can work it out. I also sell the same posters in my Etsy store: Boxcar Salvage Prints, so if that is more convenient for you, have at it! Thanks for stopping by!

This is poster 4 of 4 in a speakeasy inspired series for my favorite night club of all time: Vaginal Davis’ Bricktops! It’s been 10 years since the end of Bricktops! and people are still requesting the posters, so I am making them available here.

• Original Club Description:

Vaginal Davis and Andrew Gould present Bricktops! at the Parlour Club, in the Russian Quarter of West Hollywood. Bricktops faithfully re-creates the splendor of Jazz Age Cafe Society Paris, Weimar Berlin, and Greenwich Village bohemian intelligentsia. For literate club goers sick of the corporate careerist vulturism and youth culture myopia that plagues the tired and stagnant LA club scene, Bricktops provides the only satisfying true alternative. The style and allure of the 1920s has created a “flaming” youth movement and sub-culture, that exercise in camp and kitsch, but something more demanding that explores our not so distant past in an environment ripe to promote the creation of new political, artistic and cultural movements. Appropriate lost generation attire requested.
